Institute, besides the catering mental health services, also provide practical training for the people pursuing mental health courses in one form or the other, eg., Graduation Honors, Post-Graduation; M.Phil., Ph.D. (Psychology/Social Work), B.Sc./ M.Sc. Psychiatry Nursing etc.
One/Two months – observership
Three/Six Months – Internship
Training is provided by qualified & experienced faculty in the field of Psychology/Psychiatry, which includes Psychological Evaluation, Comprehensive assessment with various Psychological Measures, Counseling techniques and psychotherapies through clinical sessions and hands on training.
Besides this, various workshops/seminars are also organized for specialized training and clinical skills.
AWARENESS PROGRAMMES
Institute also takes initiatives in spreading the awareness among masses by organizing Psycho-Educational Interactive meets for the caregivers of patients with mental disorders. These meets emphasis on the practical challenges being faced by the care givers; identifying the symptomatic changes; outcome of treatment; how to deal with resistance; how to deal with their own burn-out; feasible & practical solutions; and how to overcome the stigma of mental disorders & their treatment .
As a part of awareness programmes institute also organizes free check-up/screening/consultation camps for specific disorders in the form of memory clinic; depression assessment etc. for people in need.
These meets/camps are organized free of charges.
